Even if the allegations of some Chinese nationals spying in universities were true, this doesn't justify in any way the baseless internment of faculty staff in psychatric institutions. This is miles away from a democratic and fundamental rights response.

THIS is the danger of being associated with a private university. They have far looser ethics and a strong personality at top can run roughshod over others.
