Would that make her kid a demi-Demi Lovoto or Semi Demi Lovato?

[–] No_Eponym@lemmy.ca 28 points 3 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Future headline: Semi Demi Lovoto has shown a lot of bravado going incommunicado on scandalous sexy strapaddo in hopes it can't hold a candle to the Makadio barricado on El Durado avocado gellato.

Get this lemming a macchiato.

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world -2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think it's just called a nepo baby

[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago

Coming at this with zero information : nepo babies can be fine, they didnt choose to be born rich. I cant stand them when theyre on TV talking about how they earned everything they have and nobody wants to put the work in to get there.

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Well, that's ridiculous-looking. It's like her pants were shredded in the wash, but she obstinantly thought, "No! Fuck you! I'm wearing you no matter what I have to do, or what it looks like!"

[–] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Well, that's ridiculous-looking

What a strange way to spell delicious.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

delicious

What a funny word for idiotic.

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago (4 children)

I really have no idea why this woman is famous.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (3 children)

I think she's a singer, but I can't for the life of me name a single song of hers 🤷🏻

To be fair, though, I'm a middle aged man from another continent, so I might not be in any of her main target groups 😁

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

You'd recognize it if you heard it.

I can't tell you a single Billie Eilish song title. Or Billy Joel.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You'd recognize it if you heard it.

People always say this to me, but I think they're underestimating how little I expose myself to that kind of media

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I quit giving a shit about music around 1998 I think and I use to be a metal head .

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Not even that I don't listen to music, I do... But I don't listen to top 40 radio or whatever, and I don't go on tik tok, etc. so I'm really not exposed to it

"Cool For the Summer" is a legit summertime banger. Nothing special or profound, but great feel good sunshine music.

But I believe before her music career she was a Disney Channel teen star, which is where most of her notoriety actually stems from

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

“Cool For the Summer”

Wow that was awful. Not like Kid Rock awful but bad none the less.

[–] Vespair@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 months ago

Yeah taste is subjective. I'm not sure what you were expecting from a summertime pop song made by a former Disney star if not that, frankly.

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

You could look her up and see if you recognize any. You probably would I suspect.

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

She's a singer, right ? Thats enough

[–] Hoimo@ani.social 4 points 2 months ago

She played a main character in Camp Rock and had her own Disney Channel series for a bit. Beyond that I don't really know, but many of those Disney Channel kids had very succesful careers in showbiz. Once you have a foot in the door, you get voice acting bits, appearances on variety shows, just general celeb work on name recognition alone.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 1 points 2 months ago

Isn't she one of those people that bit famous for being famous? Like those Kardashian idiots?

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I have the dumb, can someone explain the joke?

[–] null@piefed.nullspace.lol 16 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The person in the picture is named Demi Lovato.

"Demi" can also mean "half".

So if one of her is a Demi Lovato, then two of her is a complete Lovato.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Why is she wearing jeans with the jorts removed?

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

You ask the question while demonstrating why she did so.

(Attention)

[–] jobbies@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Its actually:

Lovato = (demi Lovato) + Poot

[–] xia@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

If I get the joke/reference, I would assume you mean:

Lovato = (Demi + Poot) * Lovato

...which further implies (Demi+Poot) = 1?

:)

Denim Alotto

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 months ago

Eek! She's breached containment! Flee while you can, lest you get crushed by unstoppably exponential Lovatoes!

[–] Hoimo@ani.social 2 points 2 months ago

Is this peak denimization? Like, what could you denimize to beat jarretels? There's nothing left except dedenimizing something that is denim by default and then redenimizing it.

[–] Holyginz@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Im sorry, I must be stupid cause I dont get it.

[–] imetators@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Demi (demidius) in latin means half.

[–] Holyginz@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Ahh thank you!
