A little bit of high voltage on the antenna should do it. Not particularly reversible though.

Look into unhooking the antenna. I know that some of the articles that I read a couple of years ago when I was looking into this myself suggested this to keep the rest of the system working, without it being able to connect and send data.
Read about a Tacoma owner that wrapped his vehicle’s DCM in tinfoil to accomplish this and seems to have succeeded. This was preferred over fully removing it as certain other functionality is often lost that way such as in car speakers or the cabin microphone (used to talk to your phones handsfree system when running Android auto or carplay).
Ultimately, this kind of question is probably best answered on whatever forums exist for your manufacturer or model.
Depends on the model. I looked into it for mine, and it's an eSIM, so you can't just pull a SIM card. If you pull the whole module, you lose other random features, and either need to jump the wiring or something.
I would look it up for your specific model of vehicle. Their service manuals are pretty comprehensive. If you can't disable the module, you can wrap it in shielding.
Regarding these service manuals you speak of...
Vehicle manuals from 1960 through 2025, you can thank me later...
It seems to be a really useful and detailed resource, but it unfortunately appears to be limited to models sold on the American marker
This is pretty next level, thanks
This is amazing, thanks for sharing. I've spent a lot of time searching for the full service manuals and I have been able to find them for the cars I own but dang it's always a fight. And then when I go to work on other people's cars, I can never find them.
Aw, they don't have the manuals for my car brand.
Damn, sorry to hear ☹️
Still, you gotta give the folks behind all that some mad props for archiving what they do have access to..
Oh absolutely!
I have a 2021 SEAT Leon FR PHEV hatchback, and I know SEAT isn't a huge brand all over the world, so I am not surprised.
I also noted that Skoda is also missing from the brands.
Both of these brands are part of the WAG sphere, SEAT is Spanish and Skoda is Czech, SEAT is shutting down and being replaced by a new brand from their sport division, Cupra.
Based on the brands listed, I suspect this is an American site, so I don't blame them for not having brands not for sale in the US.
