MODERATORS

I had way too much negative interaction latelly. I think there is no value in getting inflammed by politics, or venting all your negative emotions.

Anyone have a list of wholesome communities that are like, word games, or drawings, wholesome roleplay, drawing, or other such interactive wholesome communities?

!dull_mens_club@lemmy.world is exactly that. Just dudes talking about boring dude shit with each other

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 1 points 8 hours ago

Huh, seems I'm already a part of that one. Thanks!

If you're willing to do some heavy lifting up front, running all/new for a few weeks and blocking communities that are home to content you don't like will leave you with a feed tailored exactly to your tastes. This would never work for a popular network like reddit but in an unknown niche platform like the fediverse, it works great. I haven't seen content I don't care for in ages and see more cute cats, dogs, turtles, owls and bats than you can shake a stick at.

It's brutal for a bit but will net you every active wholesome community in quick order.

yeah this is the way to go.

Is that one still active? The most recent posts I can see are two months old.

[–] FoxyFerengi@startrek.website 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I think you might have a federation issue, there are daily posts that I can see. Even one as recent as five hours ago

[–] anna@retrofed.com 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

Hmm. How would I check that? Did my instance defederate?

Edit: Apparently we're federated. Still can't see any recent posts, though.

If I remember correctly, people from your server need to subscribe to the community for the posts to federate. I can't remember if it's just one subscriber or if more are needed. Sorry, that's not super helpful >.<

I can't speak from experience but Beehaw.org is supposed to be a pretty chill place in theory. Don't know if they pulled it off in practice though so YMMV

Didn't hear of it, will try! Thank you!

EDIT: Apparently, I can't even handle good news of bad things happening to bad people. I'm crayon tier now.
