Windrose but I'm hitting the "this got repetitive fast" stage and am starting to return to my classic RPGs. I've fired up an oldie but a goodie from the glory days of Bioware - Dragon Age: Origins. Dark high fantasy RPG. Absolutely loved it when it came out and I'm revisiting it. Its a little wonky compared to similar contemporary games like BG3 but oh so much fun.

Screamer! I've been wanting an arcade racing game to sink my teeth into and this is it. It's probably the most technical arcade racer I've played: gas and brake are left and right trigger, no surprises there. The steering is where it gets interesting. The left stick does make your car turn left and right, but only ever so slightly. Steering with just that even in a slightly sharper bend will result with car in wall. Instead, you're supposed to make use of the right joystick, which is basically drift on command. If anyone's familiar with the game Inertial Drift, it's pretty much that. You also have to m
In addition to this, the game is aggressive. After a certain point in the campaign, you get access to the strike mechanic, which is a short boost that insta-kills anyone it comes in contact with. There's also boosting, shields, overdrive (which is the strike mechanic, except it's always on until the gauge runs out, but the slightest contact with the wall will blow you up), etc. AND if that's not enough, each driver has an ability. For example, one driver can get two boosts in a row, another gets bonus boosts and strikes whenever they K.O. an opponent, etc. It's super fun.
If anyone's into arcade racing, definitely try this out. Just sail the high seas first to see if it's for your or not, the game unfortunately does not have a demo.
Elementallis! It is very heavily inspired by old school Zelda games, but does a pretty awesome job being fun in the ways those are.
Elder Scrolls Online. It's kinda my go-to. Dragon Knights are bonkers after this last update.
Played Titanium Court. Its great. You should play it. Don't look up anything about it, just put your trust in the Steam refund window. You will know if it is for you or not within the first 2hrs. I am still struggling to describe it in an enticing way without spoiling anything, because this is a game that delights in constantly surprising you. Disregarding the gameplay (which is completely different) you could say Titanium Court is a little bit like Undertale for adults? That's what I felt, at least. If you want a little bit more then this short sort of captures it.
After finally tearing myself away from Titanium Court I began playing AI Limit. It's an anime-styled Soulslike, and while I'm not huge on anime I'd heard a lot of good things about it. So far it's been pretty solid. It has its flaws, but it was made by a small team after all. I wish the art direction was a little stronger and more distinctive - anime post-apocalyptic modern sceneries seem like they're dime a dozen, especially paired with mutated fleshy alien matter. There are plenty of sceneries here that may be competently designed in isolation, but just feels like I've seen before. The graphics are also very uneven and some textures look terrible - again, small team I guess.
Combat is pretty decent though. There is no stamina, instead there is a combined stamina/mana bar called Sync that also depletes when you get hit and recharges when you hit enemies (or parry them). Normal attacks and dodges don't cost any Sync, so combat has a distinctly different feel from most Soulslikes. You also deal more damage at maximum Sync, but your special attacks stop working at lower Sync. If your Sync is totally depleted you get into a vulnerable state that often means death. It's an interesting twist that makes combat feel a bit different.

Loved the demo for Titanium Court, but I have so many games in rotation right now that I decided that it'll have to wait its turn :(
I know the struggle. Well, not so much about rotation as I tend to play one game at a time but the backlog. It's beginning to stack so high now it's been officially classified as a significant landmark by the government.
Alabaster Dawn has just released into early access and it's been absolutely incredible so far. I'm only about an hour in, but the combat feels really good, with tight movements and quick action. The story is interesting, and the graphics are astonishing pixel art. If you're interested in action rpg's at all, pick this one up!
The new Moomin game is very chill (pun intended)

Is there a new one or the Melody of Moominvalley? That's actually been on my wishlist for a bit, I grew up on Tova Jansson and it has great reviews too.

Noted! I might pick them up at some point if I need a cozy game. Also, talking about this again makes me want to go dig up my old copy of Who Will Comfort Toffle?. Was my absolute comfort book as a kid, favourite bedtime story.
I loved (well, still love) the more melancholic ones, Moominvalley in November and Moominland Midwinter are probably my favorite ones. I've also recently finished the 90s Moomin anime, it did wonders for my post-work tired brain

And also I know that show! Well, "vaguely remember" is probably more correct. I used to watch it as a kid, but I haven't since then. I wonder what I'd think about it nowadays.
Haven't played much this month, as I was focused on other things, but I finally played Unbeatable's story. I think it was a bit messy, but I still liked it.
I've also started playing Absolum with a friend and we found it pretty fun. Meanwhile I've also been playing Blazblue Entropy Effect which IMO plays better but lacks the "style" of Absolum.
I've also started Potionomics this weekend, it's surprisingly stressful and probably a bit too hard for me. I've also just started La-Mulana 2.
Finished my Dark Urge Baldur's Gate 3 run. The duel with Orin was surprisingly troublesome, and it took me a few tries to defeat her, but otherwise it was a pretty smooth run. Since I resisted the urge, it was mostly the same as my other "good" playthroughs, apart from the couple of additional scenes and dialogue.
For now, I'll take a couple of months break from the game, and wait a bit for the next playthroughs.
Then I tried Vampire Crawlers, the deck building dungeon crawler spin-off of Vampire Survivors. I'm not really into these genres, but gave it a shot because of the Vampire Survivors connection.
I think the way the different items, mechanics, enemies, levels, etc. got translated into a completely different kind of game is pretty neat, but the chest opening animation is seriously lacking. It's the best in Vampire Survivors, and I have it as my Steam Deck boot up video, but it's just completely missing here. A massive oversight.
Otherwise, the game is fine, the combo mechanic is fun, but it did get kinda boring and samey after about 10 hours.
Right now I'm in between games, waiting for my Steam Controller to arrive and Forza Horizon 6 to launch, so I'm just playing a bunch of Overwatch. My biggest gripe with the game is as always the matchmaking. It got better since the recent re-launch, but it's still pretty bad.
The dual was sooo obnoxious. I did an embrace run and the slayer form is pretty terrible especially in comparison. I think I ended up spamming invulnerability spheres and burning through Otto's irresistible dance scrolls.
I've been playing my favourite kind of cozy point-and-click adventure on PC... Doom Eternal. (The demons are the puzzle and you point and click until it is done.) (Doom 2016 is better, tho - no Marauders, more ammo, more upset Hayden...)
As for phone, I've been trying out Google PlayPass and it might be the only Google service I keep using (unless/until I find a non-google alternative). I love no longer seeing ads or microtransactions in games. Some games I tried:
Ooh I loved INMOST. Played it on PC though. Great art, great music, great vibes. Story was also good although the ending could have been more subtle.
Die in the dungeon. Basically slay the spire but replace cards with dice that have different abilities. New but fun.
I just got into RuneScape (3, not osrs). Wow. Such a great game. I tried osrs, and I didn’t like it much. I like that it doesn’t dictate what you have to do. Just dk whatever you feel like. Levelling skills? Yep. Fighting beasts? Yep. Feel like questing? Better believe it!
The game definitely has a lot of things to do yea. I'm looking forward to trying out the Dungeoneering rework they will release today.
Out of curiousity. How do you feel OSRS dictates and how do they do different?
tbh, I haven't played enough OSRS to comment. I've only been playing RS3 for like 2 days. so I probably can't comment on that front either.
I don't have much time for gaming lately, but I found a couple of minutes this weekend to try out Gnomes.
From what I have seen, I cannot recommend this game enough.
bg3. just got minsc and doing my level 12 builds. will search for endgame equipment after that.
I played through the most of Enderal. It's a full on new story and world built on Skyrim. So if you own a copy, no need to buy it again. It's free already. It's a grimmer world with rebalanced and new RPG elements, a lot of quests. A dense, interesting world and story, good voice acting and charachters in my opinion.
Last two weeks I have been playing a lot of Euro Truck Simulator 2, very relaxing game just driving trough the new maps (It looks so much better compared to when I bought it years ago). This weekend I also started playing Core Keeper, just a few hours in so far, but it seems like a fun underground survival game.
I've had a lot of gaming time on my hands being sick all weekend. I started another Sims4 game and have been playing the new Tomadochi Life on Switch. I think I enjoy the relationship system on Tomadochi life better, but speedrunning relationships does have its place with limited game time.
I'm trying a 100 baby challenge with the updated rules so I'll see how far I get before I fail or get tired of it. Taking care of babies feels way more grind-y now since the last time I tried this.
Also, I'm super stoked for Paralives early access on May 25th.
Been taking turns with my SO playing Bore Blasters. It's a vampire survivor like, I think, but the experience is smoother. It's not something I'd have played for long on my own, since the constant rewards and positive feedback overwhelms my brain a bit, but taking turns it's great fun.
Also started ship of fools and creatures of Ava, don't mind either so far.
I keep wanting to replay Silksong but I should wait until the first DLC comes out...
I've returned to "Foundry" for the latest early access update that added trains. I haven't played since the EA release last year. It's shaping up to be pretty good! All the factory goodness from Factorio and Satisfactory but with Minecraft lije destructible terrain.
Started a new run of Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, got eaten by zombies in minutes. Will try again when I have time.
