We've been doing baby steps for hundreds of years, maybe we should try some more mature steps now.

I don't understand. Are these 2 things different? Are these not both just different adjectives for the same philosophy?

No, not at all. Mamdani isn't technically a leftist; he's centre-left, but not leftist.

Edit: idk why I'm downvoted. I made it clear that I'm a leftist and not capitalist.

I think Mamdani very genuinely wants to help people rather than just enrich himself and do corporate bidding, which is more important than doing the most leftist option available at any given time. If we put good, selfless people into positions of power while removing and condemning the selfish and corrupt, we will be better off as a society.

Personally, I'd rather have a caring and compassionate slightly left politician than a hard leftist that only focuses on politics and playing the game.

If we did that, really consistently did that nationwide, I would actually be willing to wait for the supposed "slow reform process" to effect itself. As it is, time is literally of the essence, yes literally. Every week that we wait leaves us further underwater in the near future, again literally. We need RADICAL change IMMEDIATELY.

To clarify, this is not to say I am unhappy with zohran. Love that guy. We just need a flood of him

Yeah, you're right. It's unfortunate how bad things have been allowed to get.

I'm leftist and saying that people like him are only the first step.
