I'm hoping Colbert will start a podcast, so he can do and say what he wants to, without the constraints.

I like the way he's toying with the suggestion of running for president.

[–] lepinkainen@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He’s only in his early sixties, not old enough for President 😏

[–] JennaR8r@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

LOLz ok but seriously we all know that the minimum legal age to run for US presidency is 35

[–] lepinkainen@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Then go for people closer to 35 than 80?

Think bigger.

Craig Ferguson during his stand-up tour talking about his CBS cancellation...
"They kept telling me, 'watch your weight, watch your accent'. And what'd they do - use an even fatter guy with an even worse-er accent."

Good luck Mf's indeed!

This whole cancellation is insane. History will not look at the American people kindly for letting all this happen without putting up a fight.

i'm sure canceling the only shows on their networks anyone actually still watches (as pathetic as those rating are now) will work out wonders for them

“Announcing The Tonight Show with Joe Rogan!”

Somehow, Leno returned. Again…

I thought you wrote Leto and honestly that wouldn’t surprise me either.

Already has. Instead of a $20m annual loss running Colbert, they’ve made instant profit by selling the 2hr slot to Byron Allen outright. So they make money whatever the ratings, and don’t have to pay for the content.

I literally don't know what programming they have outside of this

Some terrible star trek shows? Literally the distro benefit ratio of late night shows is great even if declining viewership is making it less profitable, the fact that shows like last week tonight and the daily show are still popular shows there is still a market for a news based version of that type of thing and they decided to cancel it because trump threw a hissy fit and Jimmy Kimmel was on a similar path.

What kind of fight do you expect us to put up when they've stacked the deck for decades?
