You can just do this in life too, it's interesting to have friends of different ages who can sometimes offer insight and wisdom, and sometimes be the recipient of it.

But if you see a 56 year old with only 21 year old friends, obv run.

"Why do you keep calling me Haymitch?"

"That guy said your name was Haymitch."

"No... He said 'Hey, Mitch.' My name is Mitch."

"Well, why do you keep calling me Katniss?"

"Your sister calls you Katniss."

"She's calling me 'Cat Anus' because she's a little shit. My name is Tammy."

Had a middle-aged coworker that I carpooled with occasionally when I was younger. Totally chill for the most part, we left early in the morning and generally just listened to the radio quietly.

He offered to get me coffee while we were on the road one day. Pulled into a bikini barista drive-thru. The gal working asked if I was his daughter.

I didn’t carpool with him after that lol

What the fuck is a bikini barista????

They used to be common around here in the Seattle area. Most of them were brothels with an occasional real girl in a bikini serving you out of a coffee shack in a parking lot. Is this not common?

That first link had Ad Herpes, and it was flaring up hard.

They're still pretty common in the Seattle metro area. My parents are within a stone's throw of two of them.

They're still very common over on the east side of the state, but they lose the pretense of "bikini" and go straight to "lingerie." I think twice a week they even exchange a standard lingerie top for pasties.

Wow, the west coast is wild. I've never seen anything remotely like that

Portland, Oregon has more strip clubs per capita than any city is the US. It is currently around 1 for every 11,800 residents. https://priceonomics.com/why-does-portland-have-so-many-strip-clubs/

Its a really weird variant of a strip bar. It kind of makes the prostitution angle of stripping more difficult because of the logistics of the cars and the coffee huts. No dark corners like strip bars as they are just tiny drive thru buildings. In sure shit still happens, but less than usual. Likely safer for the sex workers too.

The window is always turned away from the road, likely by law.

Oddly, its almost a puritanical strip club where people pay $20 for a coffee and 5 minutes of attention from a stripper. It's like if hooters was more blatantly a strip club, but wouldn't commit to it.

I think the pretense of bikini was left by the wayside almost immediately when these types of coffee stands came around haha

[–] velma@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 hour ago

I thought they were more common than they are apparently!

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

But did you lose your glasses?

[–] velma@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 hours ago

Never around that particular coworker lol

[–] Beth@piefed.social 3 points 1 hour ago
