No, I have OCD and everything has its spot

[–] toastmeister@lemmy.ca 2 points 50 minutes ago

I switch phone plans every few years, and I have no idea how esims work, so yes.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 2 points 55 minutes ago

Absolutely not, lol; It's the opposite. I have a keychain one that I'm too lazy to remove. And it actually twists and gets caught in the holes on adjacent keys, so it's not like I never notice it!

I have some smart devices that came with these so I appear very responsible.

[–] markovs_gun@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Just keep it in the box the phone came in with all the warranty documentation. I've never lost one of these

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Same. And in the past decade plus of using smartphones, I've never had to open the slot except to install the SIM card for the first time. Why do I even keep it around?

[–] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 1 points 56 minutes ago

I miss sim slots.

[–] RangerJosey@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 hours ago

Inside my phone case. Only makes sense to keep it with the phone.

[–] EMHIPresume@startrek.website 6 points 4 hours ago

Yes, I keep them in the box.

[–] jenny_ball@lemmy.world 6 points 4 hours ago

[–] loomy@lemy.lol 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

false ; I bought a 50 pack

[–] jagungal@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Planning ahead? Sounds pretty responsible to me

I keep one in my keychain for the random instances I need one, especially when I'm away from home.

It's come in handy more than I thought it would.

[–] Waraugh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I did that until it left a hole in my thigh. Now I have one in my desk drawer and center console.

[–] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 12 minutes ago

I keep my keys on a dog leach clip on my belt loop, but I am sorry to hear that.

[–] chatokun@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 5 hours ago

Lies and slander. I have several, specifically because I am not responsible and lose things often.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 hours ago

I have more than one. The key is the word somewhere.

[–] PeriodicallyPedantic@lemmy.ca 5 points 6 hours ago

I can confirm that this is false

[–] DimFisher@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Oh really? I didnt know that, yes I still do and it's only one I have

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

I probably have like 3 or 4

[–] gazter@aussie.zone 3 points 6 hours ago

I bought a multi tool that has one of these built in.

[–] sulgoth@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

I stick them in a cork board.

[–] BastingChemina@slrpnk.net 6 points 9 hours ago

I have the ifixit screwdriver kit and one of the bits is a Sim card ejector. Does it count ?

[–] y0kai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

on my keychain with a set of handcuff keys and some earplugs lol

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

One can never be too prepared. "Prepared for what?" is the question.

[–] SomeKindaName@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago

You sound fun.

[–] Babalugats@feddit.uk 3 points 8 hours ago

I have mine under my phone cover. Got sick of losing them all the time when I needed one. Since I put it under the cover, I've only needed it about two times. (Under my cover for over a year).

[–] FinishingDutch@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago

You only need it when setting up a new phone. So once you put the card in, you put the tool back in the phone’s box and just stick that in a closet.

So I’m asking… how CAN you even misplace one of those?

[–] barnaclebutt@lemmy.world 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Like seven a drawer somewhere. I don't know where though

[–] Jeremyward@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

I have three downstairs in the garage, now the real question is... Where in the garage tho.

[–] midori_matcha@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

I have a small zip bag of 100+ of these in a drawer. Sometimes you gotta pop out a SIM card. Other times you gotta hit a pinhole reset button to fix a rogue router. In a pinch, they're also a good shiv or shank.

I still have like eight of those. I bought some smart devices a while ago that all had them for the reset hole, so I’m stocked up for life.

Why thank you.

[–] XnxCuX@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

Ive always just used a hair pick when I cant find it 😂

[–] kSPvhmTOlwvMd7Y7E@lemmy.world 13 points 15 hours ago

it's within my phone's protection case, so i do have it right now. Also, anecdote, a random stranger on a bus was switching sim cards, and asked me if I have the tool, which I indeed I had!

[–] Nanook@lemm.ee 16 points 17 hours ago

Laughs in paper clip

[–] ipkpjersi@lemmy.ml 4 points 12 hours ago

I'm sure I have it in a box somewhere, but paperclips open up SIM slots just as well as SIM tools do.
