I have two, and I know exactly where they are. If GPS were more accurate, I could give you the GPS coordinates for each of them.

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee 1 points 1 hour ago

I've got at least 2 on my desk. Both from my new phones ( the one I accidentally fried in a lake and the replacement I got ). They're both connected to some little piece of magnet strip that I have no idea where it came from.

[–] Mr_Dr_Oink@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

One in my wallet at all times.

[–] phantomwise@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 hours ago

Wait aren't those ADHD therapeutic help made so you can feel good about losing something that easily replaced by a paperclip for once instead of losing something actually important like your keys ?

[–] crusty@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I need them for work so I got a fancy keychain one

[–] tomatoely@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Question: Is using paperclips a worse alternative? I've found them useful for those sim pinholes but im not entirely sure if its good practice

[–] crusty@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 hours ago

Paperclips are just fine, they're just not as ergonomic / easy to hold while pushing

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

Oh I for sure still have at least 10. But finding them when I need them is a whole other story

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

More than one actually. I keep one stabbed into my computer desk most of the time

[–] jaykrown@lemm.ee 5 points 5 hours ago
[–] Shady_Shiroe@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

No, I have OCD and everything has its spot

[–] markovs_gun@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Just keep it in the box the phone came in with all the warranty documentation. I've never lost one of these

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Same. And in the past decade plus of using smartphones, I've never had to open the slot except to install the SIM card for the first time. Why do I even keep it around?

[–] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

I miss sim slots.

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 hours ago

I have some smart devices that came with these so I appear very responsible.

[–] toastmeister@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 hours ago

I switch phone plans every few years, and I have no idea how esims work, so yes.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 2 points 5 hours ago

Absolutely not, lol; It's the opposite. I have a keychain one that I'm too lazy to remove. And it actually twists and gets caught in the holes on adjacent keys, so it's not like I never notice it!

[–] RangerJosey@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 hours ago

Inside my phone case. Only makes sense to keep it with the phone.

[–] jenny_ball@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago

or a hoarder

[–] EMHIPresume@startrek.website 6 points 9 hours ago

Yes, I keep them in the box.

[–] loomy@lemy.lol 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

false ; I bought a 50 pack

[–] jagungal@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Planning ahead? Sounds pretty responsible to me

[–] loomy@lemy.lol 1 points 6 hours ago
[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 hours ago

I have more than one. The key is the word somewhere.

[–] chatokun@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 9 hours ago

Lies and slander. I have several, specifically because I am not responsible and lose things often.

[–] Sho@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Yep I have 2 on a small o-ring with a usb memory stick I use.

[–] PeriodicallyPedantic@lemmy.ca 5 points 11 hours ago

I can confirm that this is false

[–] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I keep one in my keychain for the random instances I need one, especially when I'm away from home.

It's come in handy more than I thought it would.

[–] Waraugh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I did that until it left a hole in my thigh. Now I have one in my desk drawer and center console.

[–] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 hours ago

I keep my keys on a dog leach clip on my belt loop, but I am sorry to hear that.

[–] gazter@aussie.zone 3 points 11 hours ago

I bought a multi tool that has one of these built in.

[–] sulgoth@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

I stick them in a cork board.

[–] BastingChemina@slrpnk.net 6 points 13 hours ago

I have the ifixit screwdriver kit and one of the bits is a Sim card ejector. Does it count ?

[–] DimFisher@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

Oh really? I didnt know that, yes I still do and it's only one I have

[–] y0kai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

on my keychain with a set of handcuff keys and some earplugs lol

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

One can never be too prepared. "Prepared for what?" is the question.

[–] SomeKindaName@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago

You sound fun.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

I probably have like 3 or 4

[–] Babalugats@feddit.uk 4 points 13 hours ago

I have mine under my phone cover. Got sick of losing them all the time when I needed one. Since I put it under the cover, I've only needed it about two times. (Under my cover for over a year).

[–] FinishingDutch@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

You only need it when setting up a new phone. So once you put the card in, you put the tool back in the phone’s box and just stick that in a closet.

So I’m asking… how CAN you even misplace one of those?

[–] emergencyfood@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

What do you mean you don't take out the sd card every so often so you can quickly transfer 48GB of cat videos to your computer?
