Harcore vocalist on a litteral stage calling somebody out for wanting to be the center of attention and suggesting they should conform is some olympian level bullshit.

The desire for nonconformity is evidently limited to the institutes this band disapproves of.

I would like to point out that Banana people are always welcome at Primus concerts. Les Claypool knows how to have fun.

Primus sucks!

[–] mrgigglez@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Damn I'm going to see Primus in 2 days and now wish I had time to get a banana suit.

What's really crazy is that the picture in the thumbnail is clearly outside with a plain banana suit, but the article shows a video of a sparkly banana at an inside gig, indicating that this isn't an isolated incident of banana flavoured xenophobia.

Edit: ITT, OP loses their mind over a duplicate post.

You have multiple accounts and chose to use them all to comment the same thing?

Edit: for all those who come this way, just close this comment chain. It's a mess. But yeah their client bugged out and they did not like that very much.

spoilerSo if anyone was interested they are also Javi and ~~MrGoosMoos~~

I have to admit, "banana flavoured xenophobia" was a good line.

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 3 points 6 days ago

True. It had to be put out into the world, no matter what it took.

Nah it said failed to post on one so I used another (its literally just pressing a button, don't even need to rewrite the comment on blorp) removed one once I'd noticed both posted.

Most musical genres have some level of gatekeeping, but hardcore is one of the worst.

[–] Summzashi@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Banana suit joke got old in 2010 or so. It's annoying and the people wearing them are usually annoying.

Doesn't mean you have to be a prick about it

[–] weew@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 days ago

Maybe they should stick to Taylor Swift covers if they're so afraid of anything different

If I was a singer of a band and people showed up in costumes. I would get them on stage, celebrate their whimsy, and encourage more fans to show up in costumes.

A most pit with a bunch of people in costumes, that sounds like fun.
