Same, I remember it having a natural end though. Kind of assumed it was meant to be a one and done deal.

I was reading about this show after me and my partner finished S1 (hoping we'd get another season)... It was supposedly a 3-season arc design by the Duffers, with almost the entire cast coming back, and the final scene in S1 alluded to there being more. I read S2 was already greenlit, not even 2 night ago. Too bad for that to look forward to! Oh well, at least they wrapped up the season well enough that it could be stand alone.

I just finished it yesterday and I didn't even think there would be a second season because there was no cliffhanger and nothing left for it, the story is completed
