I'm confused about how a leaked test would ruin the tentative students' so much that there are people who have committed suicide over it. Don't you just take the test later instead?

It’s not that easy tbh. These tests take a lot of prep work, studying 14-16 hours daily almost 2 years isn’t unheard of. Lots of people also take loans to be able to afford expensive coaching classes. All that effort and money feels wasted when someone can just buy their way into a good rank.

In some countries, societal pressure on exams is so great that it can make or break a student’s future career. In South Korea for example, the country almost comes to a standstill during final(?) exams and some air traffic is even put on hold so it doesn’t cause unnecessary noise for the students taking exams.
