Should be spherical. Is the sun.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 35 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Do we even know that the sun is spherical in the original manga where Japan was founded?

[–] don@lemm.ee 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

THE SUN IS CIRCULAR NOT ******ICAL THAT IS ALL. CARRY ON.

[–] ours@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Flat Earthers vs. flat Sunners fight!

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I mean, if the sun was conical and always pointed directly at our flat earth, how would we even know?

I’d love to see a model of this flat earth representation of the solar system where all objects have these alternate geographic forms. Maybe the moon is a cylinder. And Jupiter is a donut.

Saturn is a hexagon, it just spins so fast that it looks round from the side. The rings are speed lines.

Uranus and Neptune are two hemispheres, they were once joined at the edge like a buttocks.

Mars is a concave mirror-shape. Mercury is just the reflection of the sun bouncing off Mars and hitting stellar swamp gas that floats near the Sun's tip.

Venus is the only actual sphere, it's just not a planet. It's a death star. That's why the surface is so hostile, to deter hijackers.

Flat Sunners sounds like the stage name of a really stupid lounge singer 🤔

How do YOU know the sun is spherical? You never saw it from the side either

[–] irmoz@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

We're always seeing the sun from the side

[–] irmoz@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago
[–] psoul@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

It’s actually the shape of a tic tac and we are all just seeing “the tip”

[–] Initiateofthevoid@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Is this the birth of the Flat Sun theory?

[–] emergencyfood@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

*conical sun theory

[–] mmddmm@lemm.ee 5 points 2 days ago

You mean 3 months? 6 months ago you'd see the same section, from the other side.

Anyway, the Sun rotates too, so it's not that simple (you can see the sunspots moving). But yeah, right idea.

oh so what's next? are your physics gonna tell us that the earth isn't flat either?

[–] phantomwise@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Of course not it's a cylinder, it has some curve and that's why people are fooled into believing it's a sphere

[–] stebo02@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

True. Have you seen world maps? They're rectangular. And it's mathematically impossible to make a isometric map between a rectangle and a sphere, so therefore it must be cylindrical

[–] phantomwise@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Right?! I don't know how people don't realize it. It must be academia and mainstream media trying to bury the truth

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago

Trump will rename it and then everything will make sense.

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

A boob ofc.

Then again, the Swiss flag is a big plus

[–] admin@lemmy.today 2 points 2 days ago

But USA got all the stars and attention.

[–] termaxima@programming.dev 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Japan is actually entirely inhabited by garden gnomes.

[–] Mothra@mander.xyz 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Yes but underground. Only their hats poke out on the surface

[–] backgroundcow@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago
[–] BackgrndNoize@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

I feel like this is something the Japanese would do

[–] BagOfHeavyStones@piefed.social 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nice to see Tinkercad in the wild! Don't forget to change filament at 2mm.

(Tinkercad is a free and super simple web-based app for creating 3D models you can print. The above model could also be known as the foot destroyer.)

[–] jawa22@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago

Make sure you use 100% infill for maximum foot destruction.

[–] epyon22@programming.dev 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The essence of the game is about the cones

[–] ramius345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago

I just lost the...oh nevermind.

[–] considine@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago

Vexillographers are vexed by its vertex

[–] throwawayacc0430@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

In a Chinese mythology story, there was a story about one upon a time, there being 10 suns (as in dieties), which each taking turns to be in the sky. One day, all 10 just decided to hang out in the sky simultsneously. So they send someone with a bow and arrows to shoot down 9 of the suns.

What if Japan is just one of the 9 suns that were shot with an arrow, and survived and transformed into land? 🤔

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

What a journey. And yes it is.

[–] pewpew@feddit.it 6 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Just so you know, it could be anything that fits in a cilinder

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 days ago

And the white part could have structure too

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Including a 3D hand with a raised middle finger.
This whole time, we never knew!

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 days ago

No it's a cone this is literally a picture of it lol

[–] phantomwise@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago

🤯 🤯 🤯

[–] M137@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

It's one of those cone-shaped sex toys, isn't it? I'd expect nothing less (or more) from Japan.

[–] HEXN3T@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago

This is how 4D space works

[–] CaptainBlagbird@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

How does Seychelles look from the side? 🤔

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 2 points 2 days ago

They say that's what it looks like from space.
