Whether intentionally or not, what do movies depict or present wrong a lot of the time?

People drinking in situations where nobody would be drinking.

And, obviously, running faster than explosions.

A lot of explosions in movies are, as I understand it, gasoline explosions (which produce a deflagration). Those are impressive and very visible and orangy and don't actually create all that much pressure, so damage from the pressure wave or shrapnel isn't so much a thing. You can do the stoic walk out of an explosion thing.

I think that the video of the Beirut explosion, which is large and filmed from a distance, so you can see the shockwave traveling over time, drives home how there is a lot of force going on in the air.

The truth. All movies are Hollywood-, make-believe fairytales. Took me ages to find out that even documentaries only a show a particular glimpse of reality.

Cinema is the art of lie. However some documentary can create shit that permeates truth.

Edit: shit should be shot, but yeah it work

Firearms in general.

Supressors as well. If two guys were walking through an airport shooting at each other everyone would still know it. Also a suppressor has a pop on the first shot.

If you have your firearm knowledge from movies and TV you don't know anything except what Hollywood wants you to think.

Hacking/computer programming. They type wildly fast while shouting things.

Most of it looks like this but infront of a monitor, scrolling the wheel occasionally.

Guy gets shot and the impact sends him flying across the room, out the window, etc. Physics says “oh hell no”. The guy who fired that shot would have likely had his arm dislocated from the recoil if he was able to even hold onto it.

I can't stand how movies and TV shows depict people. Nobody talks like that in real life, or walks like that. They don't make those facial expresions, or say those words. It just makes them deeply unnerving for me. Its weird, because other people either don't notice it at all or even prefer it for some reason.

This is precisely what i was thinking of when i made this post!

I've known people who do put-on the "romcom/sitcom protsgonist persona" which you describe - overly bubbly, intonating words wrong, corporate speak - and long story short, they're always untrustworthy.

Happy endings. Although I like them anyway, because I'm trying to escape from reality a bit by watching.
