@IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds i'm actually not sure if Lemmy lets you follow users, weirdly enough (i know PieFed doesn't), but it's definitely possible to follow users from other types of fediverse software. i follow @Elilol from this Mastodon account, for example :3

@Elilol you might try looking for an instance of Mastodon, Pleroma/Akkoma, Misskey/Sharkey, etc. with a high character limit for posts? @harmonycorrupted (you were the first kinkycats user who popped into my head, sorry 😆) do you think kinkycats.org would work well for this?
@IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds @Elilol this is wild to me because that's literally one of the main things that federation enables 😭 haven't explored much beyond the threadiverse i assume?
@QuadratureSurfer oh yeah true, there is that. you just can't follow in the sense of having their posts show up in your main feed interspersed with posts from communities you're subscribed to. i'd like to see certain people's posts but i don't necessarily want a notification every time they post.
unless i just missed the option somewhere?
