What an incredibly efficient use of taxpayer-funded police forces! Should report it to DOGE, they definitely need to cut funding for that

your (very expensive) license is tied to a USB stick

Not true. You can link it to your Unraid.net account using Unraid Connect: https://docs.unraid.net/account/link-key/

Sure, it's not perfect, but still the best option for beginners.

HomeBox is perfect for your use case. You could also try InvenTree, but I think HomeBox is going to better suit your needs.

Any FOSS Linux/Unix shell, bash, zsh, fish, tcsh, whatever, is a million times better than cmd or the early versions of PowerShell. Yeah, I know, PowerShell Core exists now, and it's even open source and cross platform, but it still sucks.

The Spitz AX has a more powerful MediaTek dual core CPU running @ 1.3GHz. It also supports 5G, and has 2.5 Gbps Ethernet. As far as I can see, the Puli uses the same CPU, but it also includes a battery.

I recommend getting a dedicated cellular router like the GL.iNet Mudi (but you're gonna need a USB Hub if you want to use Ethernet), Spitz (4G) or Puli (5G). The latter two have integrated Ethernet ports. Both are also available with built-in batteries.

Roundcube and SOGo (which is used by Mailcow, but hass fewer features than Roundcube) are the only somewhat modern looking options. All the other stuff looks like straight out of the 90s/early 2000s. Nextcloud Mail is pretty good as well.

For anyone interested in the Kik controversy: There's a great episode of the Darknet Diaries podcast about it: https://darknetdiaries.com/episode/93/

I'm looking into setting up Mastodon instance for myself on a very minimal cloud server. To save resources on that box, I'd like to run the web interface on my own server at home, and only have the Mastodon backend running on the VPS. Is it possible to completely get rid of the web interface and only access the instance through the API? What's the best way to achieve this? Does anyone have experience with this, or do you know any useful resources?
