It's just plain stupid to blame the genocide on the only candidate that was against it, who got so few votes she didn't even influence anything.

the woman who has been arrested for protesting the genocide is responsible for said genocide, because she got a few votes that could have gone to the President financing and enabling the genocide, or worse, the other president who is in favour of the genocide?

just that she's busy between election cycles but the media completely ignores her.

"he died" reffers to a specific event. You're telling that someone at some point has died.

"he is dead" is a description of the current status.

practically synonymous. like saying "he grew up" and "he's a grown up", "he got his license" and "he's licensed".
