It's not just London either. I saw about 20 people marching down my road today with UK and England flags, and we're in a little seaside town hundreds of miles away from London. There must be protests like this going on all over the country.

Here's an article about a woman in a wheelchair who had some random man tell her having a disabled toilet is a "perk." Seems like a better perk would be being able bodied. It just reminded me of all the times since having to quit work since getting cancer and having a stroke that people have said things to me like "At least you don't have to work for your money," or "It must be nice getting free money."

Yeah it's lovely being in constant pain, being ill all the time, having all my hopes and dreams go down the drain, becoming totally isolated as people just drift away once you become ill, living off a pittance when in receipt of benefits and having to beg for every little thing when that pittance gets cut off, and getting reassessed for that pittance constantly. Not being able to do the things you want, just waiting to die. But hey, at least I get the disabled people's "perks" like disabled toilets.

I wonder if people are maybe finding the supermarket gift cards too difficult? I had hoped to never have to ask for help via paypal again as I'm getting closer to the time of my disability benefit appeal and if I win they can check the previous 6 months of my bank accounts and will question anything coming in. However the situation is getting dire and I don't know what else to do. I'm reposting my previous request, but with paypal added in case anyone wants to help but finds the gift cards too difficult.

I’m disabled, having thyroid cancer treatment that caused me to have a stroke and at my last assessment, my disability benefits got stopped (very normal in the UK). I’m going through appeal. The food bank takes weeks to access and only gives a small amount of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and some junk food like cookies. I’ve been getting help on mutual aid and comradeship/freechat to get food but it’s getting more and more difficult to get a response.

The prevailing view of society is that since I no longer work, I no longer deserve to eat. Another sick aspect of this is that if I win my appeal, they’ll check my bank account and I’ll have to explain any incoming money to them, and receiving could potentially get me in trouble (they just expect me to live on thin air in the meantime), so it’s safer for me to get food vouchers rather than money but I’m desperate enough to accept anything at this point.

So this government minister, Angela Rayner, has a disabled son, Charlie. He was born prematurely and there were problems during the birth which left him blind and with special needs. Charlie was awarded compensation from the NHS, which was put into a trust for him. This money was his, to help him throughout his life.

Angela Rayner already had two homes, a house she owned, and a free house given to her as a perk of her job. But she decided this wasn't enough. She wanted another one that cost £800K, and stole some of her son's compensation to buy it. On top of this, she committed fraud by claiming it was her only home so she paid less tax on it.

She's been found out now, and has resigned. An everyday prole like us would go to prison if we did all this, but our high and mighty overlords are protected from such consequences. This government treat disabled people like scum for claiming money to live (even though some of them have disabled kids themselves) all the while they are stealing and committing fraud to build up a portfolio of luxury homes.

EDIT: Oh, and Rachel Reeves, the evil minister who has tried to basically end disability benefits? She publicly stated that she supports Angela Rayner and has "full confidence" in her. Birds of an evil feather really do stick together.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the car is fixed. Thank you so much to everyone who answered my aid post. Now I can continue my medical treatments and get everywhere else I need to go.

And I've been given a date to start my shockwave therapy, which people here helped me with. Honestly don't know what I would have done without all the wonderful people here.

You've probably read my previous posts about how I need to get my landlady's car repaired and pay for petrol. It's necessary for getting to my hospital appointments. Otherwise I'll have to spend what I've been given on hospital transport/taxis to my appointments and when it's gone, I will have to cancel further appointments.

I have 6 months to go until my benefit appeal is heard. Then, if I win, they will check my bank accounts for the previous 6 months, and I don't know if I'll get in trouble for people giving me money. I usually ask people to write that it's a gift just in case, but I don't know if they'll accept that. So from the end of this month I don't think I feel safe accepting actual money. But actual money is the only way to get the car issue sorted. So if I can't get enough by the end of this month, I'm screwed.

Getting the full amount seems so near but so far. If 4 people would give £20 each, the target would be met this weekend. That would be a huge problem solved for me. I know everyone is hard up at the moment, but I thought I would ask again anyway as the situation is really causing me a lot of anxiety.
