What is your opinion on the recent decompilations of games and for-profit software? What do you feel about the use of AI in these projects? (lemmy.world)
 

I have had an influx of these game decomps on my Instagram recently and was wondering why so many were appearing out of nowhere. Shortly after that influx, the open-sourcing Adobe Suit thing happened and again its on my feed. Most of these projects use AI to make it easier to decomply these things and understand why it was used but I am a bit worried about the implications. As in, will these decomps actually be stable? Will they be maintained? Will companies start lobbying for AI laws harder now, in a way it benefits them and not us?

I personally stay away from AI due to the many issues AI brings but I am a fan of people fighting big companies but is this the way to do it?

Ah, thanks for sharing how to remove it. Though, I never realized how choppy it looks to maneuver my phone without animations lol. I'll keep them on because the one benefit is not outweighing that.

I have LineageOS on my phone and noticed the media player has the wavy progress bar on it. Not only that, a lot of music players also have it and lowkey I personally don't like them. I find it hard to position where I actually want to be in the song and I just don't like the constant movement. I rather a normal progress bar but that just a personal choose.
