Did you miss the “one country two systems” -> “national security law” -> anyone who opposes the ruling party goes straight to jail thing.

(Which happened 20 years later).

I don’t think they will straight up invade.

I think they will blockade, fund disinformation campaigns, increase “cooperation”, it’ll be a government capture à la Hong Kong.

The UK passed a bill on the same day cutting literally half the support money disabled people rely on and plunging 150’000 into poverty. So people across the pond may be focused on that.

Oh and the fact you can get 14 years in prison and be labelled a terrorist for saying you support a peaceful charity against Israeli genocide.

I’ve had trouble with it using a vpn and privacy browsers. It often blocks me until I use a default browser.

At some point I have to start wondering if Putin pays these sorts of people.

 

Japan’s ruling coalition led by the Liberal Democratic party has lost its parliamentary majority, in a shock rebuke by voters that plunges the country into political uncertainty. The LDP’s worst electoral reversal for 15 years, which will leave the party struggling to govern and recently anointed Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba under pressure to resign, came in a snap election he called to try to draw a line under a slush-fund scandal.
