It is more that I'd be assessing if I can drive my car around with its plates.

Account for all my assets. I'll need to figure out how much money I can rebuild my life with.
The heat wave appears to have broken.
The USA has never had an event to make Americans from shame for the country. It isn't like the USA hasn't done shameful acts, but there hasn't been a reconging of what the country has done.
What's a Dutch woman going to say when you ask for her sign?
Stop.
After MAGA became a thing, probably better that they are angry about that.
Well, where do you thing Bob got it from?
The way that you've been presenting it toggles how money is distributed behind "everyone has what they need", especially when I bring up issues like classism or access to the market.
We've seen it with social security, which acts as as a pseudo UBI for retired people in the USA. People dependent on UBI are generally pushed to lower cost of living areas of the USA due to cost. I expect that to skyrocket when rent control and government housing is pulled for a base salary. As I've mentioned before, this is going to exacerbate rich bubbles where wealth is generated or areas with natural amenities.
Some states have already started experimenting with a cash payment on the condition that they waive any rights to welfare. I can see UBI becoming a part of this; you've been paid to live, you just can't afford to live here.
It becomes very hard to form a company of any reasonable size without government intervention. At that point, corporations that form need tight relations with the government.
If a networked system of computers existed, it would probably look a more like Minitel and be very tightly controlled. I would expect that all computer communication would be available to be reviewed by various government agencies.
A lot of people said depression, but instead I want to focus on something else.
For your new job, you talked about how the work is similar, but how do you feel about your new job? Do you have a similar friend network of coworkers? How is your boss compared to your last one? Is the company culture the same or different. I ask because there are a lot of intangibles to a job that may not seem obvious, and the new job may not be as tuned for you as the last one.
Regarding fatigue and lack of desire currently, did you feel these feelings when you were unemployed? Were you working on a limited amount of energy before going to work? Were there cases where you would feel this loss of energy while out of work and looking for a job?
You are focusing on being unemployed, but the issue may be the new job.
They knew.
