I mean that is why I am here. Even with reddit what sorta drew me in compared to slashdot was the way it was a bit more like the alt. newsgroup type thing.

sure. most of that goes back to the baby thing. most animals have some of the features babys have and the animal babys tend to be this way and evoke more feeling as well.
we have been breeding them for traits we like.

When I went to college one of my dorm neighbors was an engineer major and we were at uiuc. At one point we were talking about colleges we applied to and our choices and found out he got accepted to MIT. Im like. Why did you come here? They have a good engineering program and all but its still out of state for you and I mean. MIT! His response was. What if I change my major. He actually did change to pre-med.
