If ever. I think the US highly underestimates the aversion a huge number of people have towards a country condoning and aiding genocide.

Whatever, couldn't it also be that a technical consciousness will look rather different from what we assume? There are obviously less/none of some factors, ie emotional intelligence etc. But a tech super intelligence, if ever reached, may have a number of unexpected problems for us. We should concentrate on unexpected outcomes and establish safeguards.

Hope they go for a catchy name like 'LosersInc'.

So glad I haven't got a LGtv, I'd have to buy a sledgehammer as well.

Didn't read, first thought on headline: 'ah, just great, what could go wrong?' (Sarcasm - for those in doubt)

There are plenty of things where AI (a really bad naming) will be useful - Art is not one of those... Without life experiences you'll ever be a copycat at best - and even if by chance artificial art is going to be halfway good, I'm, for one, not in the least interested in it. (I've already turned away from most mass/factory produced Hollywood garbage, I certainly wouldn't want more of it produced by a machine).

There's a word for it that describes the perpetrators well: BARBARIC. (and still, might will never equal right !)
