Of course not? If they gave you that impression then you would pry. As I said, it's pretty universal at this point. No mind reading needed. The fact that you were trying to do exactly what they're trying to avoid is hilarious to me.

This is a tier 4 city in China. Which is far down the development ladder and considered poor.

The vast majority of Chinese live in cities like this or better. Saying that there are still poor villages, well I give you this

Kensington Philadelphia is so drug infested people walk around like zombies. Does China have poor areas like that? Actually no, even the poorest villages aren't that bad.

They refuse to offer criticism to you, they will criticize the CCP constantly amongst themselves. They've sadly learned right or wrong that westerners are always trying to make China look bad. It's largely from western news like BBC. Just look up the phrase China, but at what cost. The most hilarious one I read was China is curing cancer fast, but at what cost.

It's more insane than that. 55% is only on certain items from China. Most are at 35%. So effectively Brazil would be higher. The craziest is they're higher for purposes of political interference from USA...

Most of China's smuggling is through middle eastern countries. Which USA signed deals to give them more than they need. Which was already flagged as a problem, and promptly ignored by Trump's administration. But we are going to restrict Thailand and Malaysia? Both of which do not really buy AI chips to begin with. Why? And if USA is going to do this, why not ban Singapore. A nation that was caught smuggling chips to China several times? Someone make it make sense

Oh jeez my bad. Anyway I actually hope William lai negotiates with China. China is clearly trying to buy time now and drag out negotiations to let the KMT get more power. I'd rather William negotiate as I think he'll get a better deal.

You brought up the second paragraph. You brought up Taiwan. I'm just calling KMT pro-China to be aggressive with you. But your actually right, I am surprised you knew even that much.

Edit I accidentally hit send. Here's the merger talk

https://youtu.be/QQCRmOPeHLM

I mean to say knew that much about the kmt

Except even the president of Taiwan has already said he is willing to negotiate a merger. And the KMT is gaining in popularity, the pro-China party. Why would an invasion even be in the cards? Oh wait, you think that because you don't actually know what's going on in Taiwan at all but keep speaking for us.

Kallas, the person sitting across the table literally said a few months ago that the EU will turn on China after taking care of Russia. Wang Yi is just saying USA because the US is even more blatant. Why, if you were China would you let Russia lose if everyone on the other side of that table keeps saying they're going after you once Russia is done?

[–] Joncash2@lemmy.ml 0 points 5 months ago (8 children)

Not maybe, Wang Yi literally said we cannot let Russia lose because the US will pivot to China. It's a not subtle way of saying if you guys keep talking about taking out China, we obviously won't help you.

[–] Joncash2@lemmy.ml 2 points 5 months ago

As I said EU leaders, it's obviously not just Kallas. But really China's simply trying to create a rift with the US and EU. With Trump, they're hoping there's an opening. They don't really care if the EU supports China, they just hope they see the US as toxic. Which is why Wang Yi said China can't let Russia lose because USA will pivot to Asia, they want to make clear that is toxic thinking.
