I think the newer raspberry Pis have CEC so if someone goes that route they wouldn't even need a second remote

There is a guy making LineageOS Android TV builds for Raspberry Pi and other devices.

Kodi is basically just a real-debrid frontend these days. There isn't even a decent YouTube app for it.
