It's actually an incredibly common way that they are infected, especially in places where WhatsApp is the default communication platform

I think you should be looking at the governments not at Google. This is a law that was passed that is driving this. Google certainly doesn't want to fucking do this because it would impact their ad revenue.

Right-Wing governments around the world are passing these child protection laws that are forcing tech companies to ask for your ID, which none of us want to happen

Actually yeah Google famously deleted the ad id of everyone under 13 that they knew about The problem is kids always lie about their age when asked.
