It just makes me laugh because they have a "!" At the end of their name. It just looks kinda goofy, kinda like when influencers have sponsored posts and they include the "™" in their copy haha

That being said, PopOS! is actually a great os.

A few years ago Walmart released a line of gaming computers and the ars technica article I saw was titled something like "Walmart released gaming computers and the prices aren't awful".

I copied and pasted the title verbatim and the post got downvoted a ton and all of the comments were trying to give me shit for the prices not actually being good (I feel like they were in line with normal prebuilts but oh well).

The Internet is a weird place. And to be honest, since I left reddit and have been on Lemmy I feel like people here vote with passion instead of based on the content of the post/comment a lot more than reddit. Its one of the only complaints I have so far.

Yes. That is the point of my comment. Thank you

Do you have a link to your source? That's not one of the reports that Statista has listed

And like I said elsewhere. Fast food doesn't represent the average Americans diet.

Yeast requires sugar to create the carbon dioxide to make dough rise. In your case (and in most), it's feeding off the sugar in the flour. Generally, all purpose flour has about 0.5/cup.

And, this might be hard for you to believe, fast food doesn't represent the average Americans diet.

Where are you that you don't do Easter egg hunts anymore? They're still pretty popular in my part of the Midwest US. Hell, it's not even a religious thing anymore haha

This is honestly just a weird talking point I see online. I'm sure some bread is marked as "cake" or whatever but that's not what most Americans eat.

I just checked my bread (which doesn't come from a bakery) and the entire loaf has 6 grams of sugar in it. And you can't make bread without sugar.

Hmm you're right. I thought it was closer to 0 ad, but it looks like it was closer to 600-300 bc.

Doesn't change my point though.

Sure, but comparing what people thought 2000 years ago to what they think now is a fruitless endeavor.

The concept of democracy came about around that time too (at least the Greek one, which arguably wasn't the first but I digress) but should we exclude women and foreigners from it? That's what the early proponents of democracy wanted.

Depending on where you are, laws will even protect you.

In Indiana, our castle laws are pretty wide reaching. You are allowed to defend your property, person, and even other people (including strangers) with appropriate force (up to lethal force) from anyone. Including the police. Now of course, that won't stop them from shooting back, but it's within your legal right.

Now, I am not a lawyer. But I did go through my state's CCW course and I do quite a bit with my local Pink Pistol group so I have a decent grasp on the relevant laws. But do not use this comment as a legal defense haha

Hello all, I am looking to start getting back into RSS feeds but nothing Ive found so far matches all of my requirements so i was going to see if you guys had any advice.

My requirements are:

  • Self hosted (preferably with an official docker container)
  • I should be able to view it in the web, as well as with an Android app but it doesn't have to be a first party app
  • It has to look nice and modern, preferably with a dark mode option

Anything you guys know of that would meet all three of those things?

Currently my plan is to run FreshRSS as my aggregator and FeedMe or Focus Reader on Android. I don't really have any plans for web viewers though
