Its a Russian propaganda/tankie website anyway. They have no interest in spreading reliable information.

I believe Lemmy itself is shrinking. Last I checked Fediverse Observer, it was on a downward trend (although not drastically). That said, that excludes PieFed. I think when including PieFed we're probably growing (very) slowly.

Erm, it looks to me that there is a project to make them work on Linux: https://openrazer.github.io/.

It only covers the absolute basics. Not even button rebinding.

Also... TBH if a mouse doesn't work on Linux that kind of makes it a bad mouse, IMO. I would just get a different mouse if it was an actual issue. It's not like it's a mechanical keyboard or something.

I mean, even ignoring that, its pretty bad. Doesn't even have on-board memory. Unfortunately, its what I'm stuck with, given that I can't afford a new one.

Unfortunately not. Theres some tools for the RGB, or one-off tweaks like changing DPI and polling rate in the UI, but nothing that offers button rebinding, nonetheless profile control.

[–] PlzGivHugs@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

OpenRazer unfortunately doesn't support rebinding buttons.

Are you sure its the same as the Naga X, because I'm 99% sure the Naga X doesn't have on-board memory? The earlier and more expensive ones do, but the X is the cheapo option.

My mouse isn't Logitech, its Razor. The Naga X.

What kind of mouse are you using anyway?

Razer Naga X. I spent all day yesterday trying to get it working in Mint, but had no luck. Nothing supports button rebinding, nonetheless DPI changes with button remapping.

Edit: made it slightly more clear

I mean, if the marketing is lying about the product, it will probably demoralize developers in a similar way and for the same reasons.

Is there an "standard" Windows 11 debloat script or software that I could use? Things like removing bloatware, and disabling as many of the AI features as possible?

Also, to head this off, I can't use Linux because my mouse is unsupported.

Thanks!

Edit: I used WinUtil. Thanks again!

I'm a Windows 10 user hoping to switch to Linux over Windows 11. One of my common uses for my computer is VR, via a Valve Index. Is this going to be a problem for me? I know historically, its been pretty bad, and ProtonDB shows very mixed ratings, but I also know Linux has been improving fast so am hoping that others will disagree with that.

I mean, theres the obvious answer that the world sucks right now. Even in the richest country in the world, large parts are the population are starving and/or homeless.

That said, your argument seems to conflate "nature" with "reality". The answer to that is that nature is generally very bad for us. Bugs and animals will try to eat us if given a chance - killing us first is a luxury often not afforded. Plants, trying to avoid being eaten, are poisonous almost as often as not. With the limited availablility of food in nature, starvation is common. Even common diseases can kill hundreds of thousands without the use of modern medicine. We build and innovate to get away from all this. We build houses and weapons to protect ourselves from the elements and the animals. We develop pesticides and GMOs because they're easier to grow and more nutritious, making feeding ourselves cheaper. We develop medicine to save billions of lives that would otherwise be lost. Being natural doesn't mean something is good for us, and in fact generally means the opposite.

Some are real, many are exaggerated or fantastical. It varies a lot. If you think of western shows, some use realistic names, esspecially in a more grounded setting, but most cartoons or more fantastical works will use names that are over-the-top (I.E. Marty McFly), while others are loosely based on other languages or completely made up.

I'd like to be able to do a little bit of programming here or there when out or about (or just away from my desk). I'm not expecting to compile anything, or even do proper version control, I'm just hoping for something more equivalent to writing code in Notepad++, although more features would obviously be welcome.

Is there anything good for this, that is available on Android, works offline and supports c#?

I couldn't find one thats just updated. Theres the Steam news feed, but thats like half ads and sales.

I was curious how the activity stats on the sidebar are calculated. I was looking through the GitHub, but I'm not familiar with Rust, so I was having trouble parsing everything.

Would anyone be able to point me to the relevant section on github?

I'm looking to buy a decent keyboard - nothing ridiculous as I'm not a keyboard enthusiast, but decent enough for regular use. In particular, I'm looking for something...

  • tkl or full size, nothing with a non-standard arrow key layout
  • Pink or pink and white (or white but cheap enough I can buy keycaps with it)
  • Quieter switches and shorter travel are perfered, but not a deal breaker
  • Available in Canada

Currently I'm mostly looking at the Razer BlackWidow V3 for $122 CAD. I'm not exactly a Razor fan, but the only competitve option I found was the Ducky One 3 TKL for $171 CAD. I'm sure the quality is better, and the hotswappable switches are very nice, but it lacks the backlight and the media controls while being $50 more expensive.

Is there a better option I'm missing, or a good reason to pick one or the other?

Basically any word or short phrase I can think of to mean "a lot of muscle" also implies skinny or almost no fat. Fit, or lithe bring to mind more a track athlete's body, and buff, ripped, jacked, muscular, ect. generally are though of more like a body builder. The closest thing I can think of is dad-bod but thats obviously still pretty far off as well as being male-specific. Is there even an English word for this?

Was originally thinking of posting Lenmy content on Reddit to less directly advertise Lemmy, but in the communities I follow, its almost exclusively content or already posted to, or directly originating from Reddit. This got me wondering if there were any niches that Lemmy serves better than other, larger platforms.

I have Trivia Murder Party 1&2, which are great, but was hoping to find a couple other options to play with friends, esspecially those that have specific catagories you can choose to play or to include.

I get pretty easy depressed watching TV shows with a depressing tone or a lot of character deaths or that. If its more in the background its generally fine, but things like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and The Boys are a lot for the moment. How does the new Fallout show compare?

Edit: Came back after watching it. Its depressing, but nowhere near as bad as people made it sound. No main character deaths, main characters do stupid stuff but are generally good people, and while things are grim and dark, there is hope for progress despite everything.
