Responsibilities usually come with privileges. If you fail to fulfil your responsibilities, you lose those privileges. I'm not really sure what you're getting at here because I don't think we really disagree.

There's lots of time and people in the world. Sometimes unlikely dice rolls happen. It's just a matter of probabilities

11 people that didn't read the article. Says he went into surgery. Not dead. Owner is still a dumbfuck who should have their gun privileges taken away.

I'd say stay away from niche distros unless you understand what you're getting into. I'd recommend Mint over Zorin.

Do not take what this government says at face value. Palantir has their fingers in it like crazy.

You know those are the exceptions, not the rules. Capitalism means that you play the dirty tricks everyone else does or get left behind. Legislation is the way out of this, not the delusion that we can convince people to just "choose better". I tried to convince people for the better half of a decade. People simply do not have the knowledge to understand why they should care.

I don't know why people keep saying this. You either pay for a service, or you get a company extracting as much data as they can from you for advertiser or VC money. Servers and bandwidth cost money

Rule of law is dead because a central tenet of fascism is that "there are those that the laws bind and but do not protect, and those that the law protects but does not bind"

Because they suck.

That's unfortunate (for Linus), but Louis Rossmann's story about dealing with Linus directly pretty clearly shows him to be an unpleasant person that thinks of relationships as transactional. And it is objectively true that LMG is going for quantity over quality of videos.

As other people in this thread have stated though, it seems this problem isn't actually about Linus or LMG, it's a greater trend at YouTube.

Veritasium is not super high on my trustworthiness list after the self-driving car ad incident

Eh. I lost any interest I had with Linus after the whole Gamers' Nexus thing, and I'm definitely staying away after hearing what Louis Rossman had to say about the guy.
