at the smaller unis it's just using soft power on the locals and keeping tabs on Chinese nationals

in my classes ( art and language ) the political influence was subtle but present
the cultural superiority was overt and hard to bear ( from other students )
and there was no way I would use zoom
but I found the teachers expert, helpful and kind
in other classes the influence was much stronger
