Moderation is only an issue on comms of certain topics. Or comms too vague and big.

Thats about 20 comms. Noone should be modding more than one of those.

For 2 years I've been on Lemmy. Mod 10 communities. I can be inactive for a month and things run smoothly behind me. Never seen any drama, haven't deleted a single post or comment.

Modding is not a big deal. Just let it run democratically. Hell I noticed 3 comments saying they didn't like AI on !aneurysmposting@sopuli.xyz and I held a vote.

Just keep minimal rules, barely anything more than instance rules and be hesitant about bans etc. A DM does the trick.
