As far as I know it wasn't all that widespread news in Germany, at least on the channels I see. Besides, ppl. have a tendency to think that something would never happen to them.
Sometimes a march is not a fight but a celebration solely because they can.
And besides, stopping to march because 'officially' everything is fine, may be a bit premature. Similar to women rights, who are officially equal but discrimination still persists today, the LGTBQ+ scene has lots of discrimination left to combat.

If you want excellent guides on a few mechanics in eu4 check out remans paradox on YouTube. He has not been active for a while but the guides on trade, military and such are still valid.
I've seen it manny a times when I form THE EMPIRE with Britain in HoI4, it required the short lived dominion of North America to make all of the USA and Canada a British core. Conquer the US and hand it to Canada, perfection.
