That’s cheap enough a small business could do long term backups for individuals and other small businesses.

anything is a dildo if you’re brave enough

Sounds like you’re mature enough for porn then.

And you had the capacity to pay for internet access?

Even if it works, it’s a solution without a problem. If I can afford internet access, I am mature enough to see anything on the internet, and I am mature enough to decide which users can access my internet-connected network and whether they can have access to the whole internet. That’s all the age verification needed ever.

The request for age verification by each website is purely about unnecessary control and censorship.

Downdetector isn’t working in the app.

Parts of the universe don’t behave according to the laws of physics established by experimentation done nearest to us. Dark matter is a placeholder until we figure out why this is happening.

I may need to say something that is (seemingly) nice about someone, but I’d prefer it be very subtly backhanded or nearly believable hyperbole.

Edit: I realized that I was imagining something like how the Colbert Report was done where it’s easy to believe I’m agreeing when really I’m spoofing.

I see more and more posts that are just a link to a video, post, or article. There’s no text in the description.

I’d like to see some of the article quoted and/or a brief reason this is currently being posted to Lemmy.

When it’s just a link, the cynical part of me thinks it’s just an SEO bot—especially if the account never posts any comments.

What are some ways to encourage posts that are more engaging?

Or should I just ignore, downvote, and/or block those doing this kind of posting?

“We get it, we don’t like spiders either, but it’s never a good idea to use a blow torch or any other flammable device for pest control,” firefighters said in a social media post.
