Honour killings are on one hand part of a larger patriarchal culture that is prevalent in most of the world, on the other hand, they are much more common in groups practicing fundamental variations of Islam. If we persecute each murder committed by policemen, but do nothing against the larger pattern, then we tolerate police violence.
