I just checked the app on my Pixel 6, I don't get the full-screen thing, but there's a similar in-app notification.

I mean they're well past threatening. They've been killing hundreds of actual children in Palestine for months.

You actually think that? Please tell me it's just poorly phrased.

You might be right. Although I think it's been pretty hit or miss with which drives they use in those enclosures.

Is there a debug log that details what it is or is not deleting and why or why not?

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 3 points 7 months ago

Of course, because you don't want to lose the data if one of the drives dies. And backing up that much data is painful.

Gold is the enterprise ones. Black is enthusiast, blue is desktop, red is NAS, purple is NVR, green is external. Green you almost certainly don't want (they do their own power management), red is likely to be SMR. But otherwise they're not too different. If you saw a lot of blues failing, it's probably because the systems you supported used blue almost exclusively.

They already exist, look at drone light shows. And plenty of consumer drones support GPS waypoint automatic navigation.

Those proprietary apps are the really big factor. A lot of stuff is run from a browser these days, but some systems are just too expensive to replace.

Yeah... And when we work together, that's called organizing and lobbying, the thing you just said should be illegal.

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 2 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Yeah, but it limits the time they can dedicate. It means they can only do organizing outside of a full-time job. This is restrictive, and will actively hurt the ability of people to organize. The only people who will then be able to dedicate their time are those who have the excess free time and money. What you are suggesting would mean it's individuals like you or me going up against Jeff Bezos. Who do you think would win that fight?

You can just use both. I do.
