They like the optics of leaving reddit, but like the ability to spew bigotry on flat.world and act like it's their digital 1st amendment rights.

Democrats hugely benefit from FPTP so they will never advocate for replacing it.

Key point, Newsom of California vetoed a bill to enable more ways to vote then just FPTP.

FPTP is in the benefit of both parties. It rallies and polarizes so any other idea besides "Let's not find war, let's fund education and help people" is considered too unpopular to win.

If the people who shill that change is impossible in a FPTP system could read anything that doesn't agree with the propaganda the state loves, they'd be very upset.

Never forget that Republicans were a third party at one time. They weren't even on the ballot for most states in 1860, due to their abolitionist policies.

It's 2025, no longer the Democrats vs the Whigs. But I guess no one has read history books either.

Vance is actually a secret agent that killed the Pope, no one would suspect the murder of a dying man! It's like a bad Tom Clancy novel.

The site/system made by the guy who enabled Trump and Neo-Nazis to be platformed is bowing down to authoritarians? I'm shocked, shocked to find out that the rich person obeys the other rich people!

You got downvoted for being sarcastic, reading comprehension is dead.

I don't blame you, I was educated that it abolished slavery. But there's a very big "except". It was partially added to help sway the Confederate states to make them happy that they can keep slaves if they find enough things to arrest them for.

It's part of why Jim Crow laws happened. And it's exactly why America has the highest amount of people in jail than any other nation. Slaves are cheap labor.

Americans think their favorite political sports team cares about them like the stripper actually loved them. No, you just gave them what they wanted and as soon as you're out of sight, they'll forget you and keep doing their job.

For strippers it's doing a workout for a living and being proud of their bodies. For politicians it's gaslighting the public into thinking they're the good guys as they socially murder at home and sweep up blood abroad.

13th Amendment I assume. Slavery is allowed as punishment for any crime.

It's always amazing to see the media of the 80s just shitting on Japan. "Cheap mass market products that never work." "They're going to take all the American jobs."

In Back to the Future 2, McFly is seen as weak for having a job with a Japanese boss and getting fired for it.

Cyberpunk has Japanese decorations and cosmetics because it was invented when Japan was the yellow peril.

At the same time, Japanese-Americans were asking for reparations from the internment camps, charged with the crime of being Japanese and having all their assets sold off without any consent.

Japan was able to help get a start on the next generation of writers with the mass production of anime into Western audiences. Now if someone doesn't watch anime it's seen as weird.

Right now China is that "other" nation. I wonder if in 30 more years we'll look back at it and go "What the fuck were we smoking in hating people we never even had contact with? No Chinese person ever deported me. No Chinese person ever called me slurs."

White House red phone goes off, "We've been tying to reach you about your nation's extended warranty."
