If China can show itself to be a more reliable trade partner than the USA, it should be able to make some effective counter-offers to those countries.

Did he change his middle name from Donald to David because he thought Donald was a stupid name?

For now. But once the media attention fades, who knows?

But don't anyone say that Israel is doing anything bad, or you'll be deported to a concentration camp for your antisemitic terrorism, without trial.

Project 2025 does seem to be the exact program they are following for most things. One of the next steps is to deploy the military for law enforcement inside the USA. This may happen in a few days' time if the rumours of Trump planning to declare martial law on April 20th are true.

Look at all that free speech the USA has, where people are being disappeared to an overseas concentration camp for saying genocide is wrong, or having the FBI investigate them for speaking critically about Trump, or imprisoned at the border for criticizing him online. Whereas in the UK, these days you get arrested and thrown in jail if you say you're English, don't you?

Does anyone trust the UK government not to do this?

Never depend on anything Google.

They could have replaced the Google Assistant with their new Gemini thing on these waches (since I think they basically just relay voice to and from the phone). But, being Google, they prefer just to remove features people already paid for.

It's what Pinochet did, and he was very much admired by Reagan and Thatcher. I certainly wouldn't put it past Trump's people to start doing this.

I fear the plan is darker than that. They will keep sending people in, and El Salvador promises that no one will ever come out (even if they're innocent). If you keep piling people in and never let anyone out, you run out of space unless you find some other way to dispose of people.

The only thing that really attracts me about these glasses is that you could hold your head up instead of looking down all the time at a laptop or a portable monitor. But most of the time I need more than one display, while the glasses only offer a single, expensive, fairly low resolution screen. I also wonder what it does to your eyes to use this for long periods of time.

They're all doing it. Most tech these days just isn't exciting enough to attract attention without them hyping it.

German media outlets Süddeutsche Zeitung, WDR, and NDR also cite the report, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin appears intent on testing NATO’s Article 5 guarantees. The alliance’s mutual defence clause obliges member states to come to one another’s aid if attacked. The assessment suggests Putin may seek to challenge how seriously that commitment would be honoured.

The dream is becoming reality. At least for the media talking heads who take their orders at weekly meetings in the Kremlin. The US is aligning with Russia’s outlook, they say. Now, Russia can begin to imagine a just punishment for its old enemies in Europe’s democracies(..)

He [Sardaryan] urged Moscow to focus on fomenting “anti-war movements” that will block the roads and impede the functioning of freely elected parliaments across Europe, and “destabilize the situation in all the countries that dare to act against Russia’s interests.”

Note: this article by Center for European Policy Analysis is about what Russian (propaganda)media is saying, as a mean to analyse what's going on in Putins head.

Also, in light of the implications of the content found in recent leaked US signal app group info, it reaffirms an anti-European sentiment ( Europhobia), which appears to be shared by Moscow.

The group that drafted a key blueprint for Donald Trump’s second term convened a meeting in Washington D.C. this week to consider proposals for bulldozing the European Union (EU).

The Polish investigative outlet VSquare revealed that the Heritage Foundation gathered hardline conservative groups on 11 March to hear how they would overhaul the current structures of the EU.

The “closed-door workshop” featured a debate on a new paper produced by the lobby groups MCC and Ordo Iuris entitled: “The Great Reset: Restoring Member State Sovereignty in the 21st Century”.

Summary

The Trump administration has directed the U.S. military to develop plans for increasing its presence in Panama, aiming to "reclaim" the Panama Canal and counter China's influence.

Options range from security partnerships to a highly unlikely military seizure of the canal.

Trump views a visible U.S. military presence as essential, while Panama denies any foreign interference.

The move follows Panama’s rejection of a key Chinese infrastructure deal. U.S. firms, including BlackRock, are investing in Panama's ports as part of efforts to limit China's role in the region.
