I'm not a big fan of them, but Jordan clearly isn't doing this for "security and stability". that's what all Arab monarchs say, and every single time: they lie.

That's just how the middle east works. Puppet leaders shilling for Zionism to secure western interests in the region. All our ""leaders"" fucking suck.

Can't wait till we get actually good leaders. Not puppets or islamists.

The Islamic Action Front, a political party linked to the regionwide Brotherhood, won the most seats in parliamentary elections held last year against the backdrop of mass protests against Israel over its war with Hamas.

The monarchy banned the Muslim Brotherhood a decade ago but officially licensed a splinter group and continued to tolerate the Islamic Action Front while restricting some of its activities. It was not immediately clear how far the latest ban would go.

Police surrounded and searched the Islamic Action Front’s headquarters after Wednesday’s announcement and seized several boxes of documents.

The Interior Ministry said the Muslim Brotherhood is now considered an illegal organization and announced a ban on any political activities related to the group and the closure of its offices. It said efforts to confiscate the group’s assets would be accelerated.

I in fact, do know and most [non-gulf] arabs hate them too. I was talking about most conflicts (sudan, gaza, war on terror, etc) in general, not just this one.

I edited the original comment to include the gulf states, too. My original point still stands, though.

Don't worry, i hate the ottomans too lol. Religious countries and others that are fueled by their greed of power are a disease. Secularism has been very slowly rising in the middle east for decades, but these attacks and terror only regress.

But ultimately, secular terror vs religious terror... it's ultimately a lose lose situation. I will hate every country that causes these levels of suffering, no matter if they are atheist or not.

Maybe we'll live to see secularism and peace in the middle east, maybe not. It's coming, just nobody knows when.

Arabs [including I] hate western powers/gulf countries due to them interfering for their own interests and causing everyone else to suffer, but if they literally just stopped most people wouldn't hate them. Apparently, that's too high a goal for them. 🙄

Wdym? of course the west is siding with Israel ~~to gain regional power~~ for the good of everyone! After all, there's nothing better than siding with the only ~~apartheid~~ democracy in the middle east and their greatest allies!

Those ungrateful palestinians should be proud that they're being civilized by the free world! /s

kills civilians

radicalizes them more

why is the middle east full of terrorists????

Obviously fuck the houthis, but especially fuck saudi/US and all the other forces bombing and making the innocent civilians suffer.

Fuck the foreign powers intervening ""for the good of the people"" (to secure their own interests, actually.) we'd be much better off without them. We need aid not bombs.

Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed 56 civilians in a series of attacks on a town in Darfur along the road to the city of el-Fasher.

Activists from a local resistance committee said the killings in Um Kadadah were carried out on Thursday and Friday "on an ethnic basis".

Um Kadadah, which lies around 180km east of el-Fasher - the last city in Darfur held by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) - was recaptured by the RSF on Thursday.

The RSF has been at war with the SAF since April 2023 in a conflict that has displaced more than 10 million people and left over 12 million facing high levels of acute food insecurity.

Kurds in Iraq and Syria this week marked the Newroz festival, a traditional celebration of spring and renewal, at a time when many are hoping that a new political beginning is on the horizon.

Newroz, the Farsi-language word for “new year,” is an ancient Persian festival that is celebrated in countries including Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran. It is characterized by colorful street festivals and torch-bearing processions winding their way into the mountains.

For many, Thursday and Friday’s Newroz festivities symbolized not only the arrival of spring but also the spirit and aspirations of the Kurdish people, who are now facing a moment of transformation in the region.

The Sudanese army seized full control of the presidential palace in downtown Khartoum on Friday, it said in a statement, in what would be a major gain in a two-year-old conflict with a rival armed group that has threatened to partition the country.

The RSF has consolidated control in the west, hardening battle lines and moving Sudan towards de facto partition. The RSF is setting up a parallel government in areas it controls, although that is not expected to secure widespread international recognition.

The RSF said on Friday, hours after the army statement, that it remained in the vicinity of the palace, and that it had launched an attack that had killed dozens of army soldiers inside.
