It is an approximation of intelligence. Literally a universal approximator trained on "intelligent" data. I can think of many applications where such a tool would be a brilliant fit but I swear tech companies are hell bent on cramming it into every single niche that it doesn't belong.

Seconding this. It's not incredibly common but it's not incredibly uncommon. Research shows that most people who have it don't notice it until it's pointed out. Drugs and stress tend to exacerbate the effect as well.

Because the second number has special rules and a unit. It's not just a pair of numbers, though it can be represented through a pair of numbers (really helpful for computing).
