This really seems like the church doing PR: was a good pious rich kid and used social media to proselytize, then a couple people prayed to him and claimed to be healed (what he is being canonized for). And when I looked for controversy around it I just found some extreme dark-age type Catholics who are even more self-subsumed than most.

Thousands years old religions just don't work without asking for extreme delusion. I like that church etc helps form community and gathers folks, but that's about it; the message has been lost to all but a few.
