The only Nintendo console I have is my Wii, thats about it and I dont personally plan on getting another one. Its less a boycott and more I lost intrest after my 3DS broke.

Xbox and PlayStation have that yet they never do it and tbh I doubt Nintendo will ever do so either. Its more for legal protection especially in cases where the user bricks their system.
Yeah but there a few basic facts even you need to acknowledge:
- The Switch boycott doesn't exist outside the internet, people irl simply dont care and are willing to pay up
- Lemmy is a relatively niche platform, we think we're big but thats objectively untrue.
- The vast majority of people will never switch away from centralized services
- The vast majority of people dont know about Linux and if they do than they dont care
- Self hosting is significantly smaller even among tech nerds
- The vast majority of people dont care about privacy
- The vast majority of people dont care about game preservation
So when this platform is the exact opposite it makes it look like a circlejerk or at least an echo chamber

Well you see my distribution of choice is the perfect choice, my window manager is the best one, and my specific choice of utilies (ex: Terminal, shell, text editor, file manager, toolkit, etc) are the best ones. Clearly you're the one trying to divide Linux users :3
(And of course my standard is the best one, yes there are thirty other universal standards but mine is better)
Because mass recommending Linux to people with absolutely no nuance whatsoever is exactly why Linux users are seen as obnoxious and annoying. Not only does the website make no attempt to properly explain Linux it doesn't clearly outline its usecase. Its the very definition of the Linux user stereotype, blasted right in front of your face, reposted everywhere, and with a simple INSTALL LINUX and EVEYONE CAN INSTALL LINUX.
