I don’t know why Italy is wasting time on this.

Tech-illiterate politicians making public actions so their corporate donators keep investing in them.

One way that their incompetency limits the amount of damage they can accomplish.

Or they could like... just not be dicks and supply firmware updates without the lock-in, instead of having to trade off security to use your device however you want.

Any company trying to use the HDMI-CEC protocol in such a subversive manner should lose their license to the HDMI standard IMO.

Talk about having the umost integrity to avoid being remunerated for it, not because of the potential corruption it could lead to, but to even avoid the appearence of potential corruption.
