I think I'd feel okay with "'01", through to "'09", then the teens feel weird again but only because it just feels weird to refer to a year as small as like.. "'13".. although I don't have that same problem with the naughties, maybe that's because of the added "oh" making it seem like more than just a number? And then the twenties feel like big enough numbers to abbreviate but, yeah, again, I'd feel like a tool.

Okay, yeah it's for sure smug partisan reporting. There is, however, some catharsis to be found in acknowledging that the people who shot holes in the hull of the boat we're all in are also drowning. It's arguably petty, it's not taking the high road, but it can be satisfying.

I don't agree that an outlet reporting on people being hurt by their poor voting decisions (i.e. voting for an American Republican party that is openly far right and is absolutely miles from sanity out of spite and the desire to hurt others) is what's holding back the entire US democratic party
