Maybe they should ask ChatGPT.

Could it be something to do with the order of nouns and verbs in the sentence? English is quite different from the order of others.

Maybe it's a coded way of saying "the cognitive traits of sociopaths are what will make you do exceptionally well at Palentir, apply now".

As if that wasn't already obvious.

Or just an elaborate cover for a guy who overdid the pre-interview coke dosage.

While other Auckland areas saw turnout drop, voting numbers in Papatoetoe increased by more than 7 percent. All four seats went to first-time candidates from the Papatoetoe Ōtara Action Team. The result was inconsistent with historic voting patterns. None of the previous local board members of the Papatoetoe subdivision were re-elected.

Sketchy! Who are these guys?? https://www.facebook.com/papatoetoeotaraactionteam/

Didn't stop everyone having a good foam at the mouth over it tho, aye 😜

Pretty disappointing how few people really read the articles.

I have just added code which makes the instance vote weight visible in the UI - https://codeberg.org/rimu/pyfedi/commit/04b54e25f44f54420c247152323c90c4a3360a02

You can go to https://piefed.social/instances and check the vote weight of any instance. It'll be very boring tho because they're all set to "Votes are weighted at the normal level." Yes, even lemmy.ml.

The story was invented so people would subscribe to his substack, which exists to promote his company.

We're being manipulated into sharing made-up rage-bait in order to put money in his pocket.

The answer to that is literally in the first sentence of the body of the article I linked to.

https://gptzero.me/ is free, give it a try. Generate some slop in ChatGPT and copy and paste it in.

FYI this article is written with a LLM.

Don't believe a story just because it confirms your view!

427 students

$153 million

To be fair, that's $153m over 4 years and the student numbers will probably increase. Let's pretend there were 1000 students, so that's 153,000,000 / 4 / 1000 = $38k per student per year.

For the rest of the school system, the govt spends ~$10k per student per year, see page 10, point 1.2. So Charter schools still cost nearly 4x as much and they don't even work.

police had seized two consignments of drugs, totalling 630kg of methamphetamine worth $220 million, and 112kg of cocaine worth $50.4m

One gang in particular may have a set of baggage handlers which they will almost hire or rent out to another gang, to take a cut of the profits.

I haven't been following the ins and out of all this but John Tamahere has a history of manipulative horrible bullshit so I'm inclined to believe Kapa-Kingi on this one.

I'd bet money on Tamahere having a lot of dark triad stuff going on.

Six out of ten of the young people had ADHD either diagnosed or suspected. Three of those diagnosed were unmedicated. Other learning difficulties among the cohort also included auditory processing challenges for example.

Mental health issues were noted for several young people including difficulty regulating emotions, anxiety, suicidality and PTSD. Almost all had substance abuse noted in their assessments.

A team of scientists has developed a highly accurate blood test for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The test reads tiny DNA patterns that reveal the biological signature of the illness. For millions who’ve faced doubt and misdiagnosis, it’s a breakthrough that finally validates their experience — and may help diagnose long Covid too.

This is pretty interesting! I like the bits where they show the 1950s aerial view vs the present ones to show how the river changed.

At the start there is a clip where they focus on the bit that got her ejected but after that there is the whole speech leading up to that which is well worth a watch.

The NZ International Film Festival will be featuring "Prime Minister", a behind the scenes doco about Jacinda Ardern.
