Yeah, Brock aka Allen Turner! The rapist who barely got inconvenienced after he raped a woman who was passed out. The one who had two guys testify against him because they interrupted him in the middle of raping someone.

I only know of one Brock Turner, and he definitely raped a woman, but the judge let him off easy because he has affluenze.

The judge decided that a punishment might jeopardize the rich kid's future, and cited that he hadn't been brought up to realize the consequences of his actions. To my naive understanding that seems like a really teachable moment.

By the way, in case anyone wasn't sure: Brock Turner, the convicted rapist, raped a woman and got away with it because his parents are rich.

I'm lucky to work in an office that is a healthy mix of ethnicities so when I talk about politics there's enough people to make the racist bootlicking types obey their primary motivator, fear, and keep quiet.

50501 was the first time there have been simultaneous protests in every state capital in the US, ever. There were more than 100 people on the capital steps in my backwater state of Missouri.

Could we do better? Hell yes, but to say we're not doing anything is disingenuous when major media outlets are owned by opponents of the protests and therefore under-reporting, obfuscating, omitting or lying about protests happening.

I'm looking into alternatives. So far Kodi is the front runner for my use. I have not decided on whether to replace roku units with raspberri pi running kodi or try the jailbreaking roku route.

Highly recommend. The reason I thought of them is because that is where I first learned the concept of leaver and taker societies.
