Looking forward to seeing high stakes world negotiations between two nations representing a massive history, living and ancient that must be handled carefully and respectfully to prevent a catastrophic escalation of violence nobody wants taking place in a Burger King.

NYC might as well put a massive billboard that says "this city is COOKED".
Nope, guess the Catholic church is still in the lead on the Evil Bastards scoreboard!
I am surprised God is still hiring real humans? Why not just an AI pope? Does God not care about efficiency?
Bill Gates is a selfish idiot and the only reason he cares about what Elon Musk is doing is it undermines the public facade of billionaires.
Cody Johnston is the right person to explain this.
Billionaire Philanthropy Is Kind Of A Scam - Some More News
edit, didn't mean to imply Elon Musk was anything other than a hateful piece of shit, my point is that people like Bill Gates are getting nervous Elon isn't hiding it better.
Yeah, not for long, what is happening is a series of pump and dumps to extract out a bit more profit for Trump's small circle of cronies before the international community realizes there is nothing left to trust. It is like trying to steal blood from a dying person and expediating cardiac arrest.
Same shitty nonsense as VC companies buying successful businesses with long histories and loyal customers and making a killing by selling trash to previously loyal customers and taking advantage of them until the company is a dead husk, but with an entire country.
I am not sure I remember anymore, I have eaten my tail one too many times.
I don't think this is a direct meaning of the metaphor, though any metaphor of endlessly repeating cycles can be placed in a rhetorical framework where it represents enshittification so I am sure I am not the first person to add or tweak the metaphor with that context.
People have been saying this about the U.S. tech industry for years and the reason is that the rich were mad working in tech here in the U.S. used to be a decent career and so this became the bullshit line given to corporate media by CEOs.
There is literally nothing to it beyond this.
What is imminent and already happening is the use of natural disasters and crisis as weapons of war by governments withholding or painfully slow walking critical aid, which honestly I might prefer just going to war because I think this is going to be far more brutal.
Would you rather be in a foxhole getting shot at or panicking as your power went out and now wet bulb temperatures are pushing your body into lethal territory and there is nowhere to go and no one to help...?
(Neither obviously)
What most people don't know about the ouroboros is that every time the creature eats itself it becomes a little bit closer to being a turd (a consequence of its peculiar metabolism) so even though from an inside perspective the system appears to be in a complex mysterious cyclic kind of stasis, from the outside it is just more and more obviously a turd in the shape of a donut.

I've never seen a platform that hates CEOs more than Lemmy.
aww thank you :)
I don't disagree with that, but from the perspective of the U.S. I think this metaphor still stands, this is the kind of thing my country loves to brag about being essential for and we are just now more than ever a giant useless turd that some talented, passionate people still manage to use towards good things when the assholes in charge aren't looking...
