Don’t point this out to them. They’ll just respond, outraged, that by going to cute little marches (parades) they’re doing all they can-

Come on, if they actually do something they might GET IN TROUBLE! Then all the bad things that are definitely going to happen to them might happen to them.

For literally no reason.

Because 1) he was no longer PM when it happened, but more importantly, 2) powerful people don’t want you getting the idea that political violence can be righteous

100%. You never hear peep about it in the media, which is kind of shocking given how outrageous it was- and my tinfoil hat tells me it’s because “they” REALLY want us all to keep repeating the “political violence accomplishes nothing” thought-stopping cliché. Granted- this one was particularly weird because Abe wasn’t EXACTLY the intended target, but even so.
