But you're leaving out some context and pretending that somehow is irony or lack of self awareness? I know what I did/am doing.

I don't feel it's respectful and rule 1 of that comm is "Be Respectful". This post isn't respectful and neither was mine that got removed.

I'd also argue that pointing to someone specific and saying "their actions give me a anuerysm" isn't "calling out their bullshit" so much as a drive-by mini-rant.

There's plenty of comments "calling out the bullshit" fairly well under that post about the thorn user: Depending on the time period of English, using thorn for "th" isn't even accurate. It absolutely doesn't achieve the intended effect of tripping up AI scrapers or poisoning their dataset. It's a hindrance to smooth reading by other humans, and could cause issues with people relying on assistive technology. Those are all the ones I saw before I blocked the comm.

Beyond that, my own critique: It causes massive derailments of the conversation when people inevitably start commenting about the quirk instead of staying on topic.

Those are all "calling out someone's bullshit" without inherently attacking the person. If the post had omitted the username I would have blocked the poster and moved on with my life. If it had also been more like the things I just listed, I would have just downvoted and hidden the post.

Simply putting a crosshair over the guy and going "this gives me an aneurysm" doesn't actually do anything except say "this individual pisses me the hell off", which is at the very least both not respectful and more extreme than "mildly infuriating".

I absolutely believe that it's targeting as well, but that's a personal belief that isn't anywhere as relevant to the coversation due to it not being as important to that comm's rules. The argument stands without it.

As stated in the prefix, I'm not upset that my post was removed. That's well deserved.

I'm frustrated that whole community has gone to shit, I'm not the only one feeling that way, and the issue largely seems to be due to a lack of active moderation team as evidenced by two of three having no activity for a year plus.

Did I not lay that out clearly, or are we going the bad faith route where you propose to know more about my own motivations than myself?

There's multiple projects out there for it. Windows 10 Ameliorated is/was an open source project of PowerShell scripts you run against the installation media (and I think afer install, it's been a while) to get LTSC Windows 10 stripped down as much as possible.

It's what I run in a VM for my work's VPN connection software (and then for the RDP session too). Keeps an extra level of separation from my personal stuff.

I could probably get things working in a Linux VM, but it's not worth the trouble for me.
