"The article below first appeared in the April 10 edition of the Washington Post. It reports on successful protests in Sackets Harbor, in upstate New York, that forced Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to release three kids, and their mother. They had been wrongly arrested during an ICE raid in the nearby North Harbor Dairy Farm in late March.

The story offers an example of what can be done to resist some of the most extreme assaults on working families caught in the mass-deportation dragnet the #Trump administration has unleashed since taking office in January. "

A town that fully supported trump and never thought this would happen to them. They are quickly realizing it is, and they are having a change of heart, right?

“It’s about these kids and how these kids were treated. Yes, that really is political. Obviously, this is the administration’s policy on immigration, but I don’t think this is the time or place,” Decillis said. “This community wants these kids back. That’s what we’re trying to support.”
